I wish to extend an invitation to you and all of the  ALOs in Western Tennessee to join the ALO-net.

This network has been organized since 1995.  It is an unofficial channel for Air Force Academy/AFROTC news
and information that exists outside of the Admissions Office.  It is not a place to complain about grievances
or unfair policies.  The ALO Advisory Panel exists for that.

In the past I have touted this network as an opportunity to share ideas and information among LODs
or the LOD representative.  I would like to suggest that all ALOs can benefit from this network.  The
information which has been shared over the past months and years is general enough to appeal to all those
associated with the admissions process to the Academy and AFROTC.

Recent stories include a report of the 2007 cheating scandal in which 18 of 31 cadets found in violation of the Cadet Honor Coder were recommended for disenrollment.  The other thirteen cadets were placed on probation.  Also covered was a new collegiate free falling record involving 39 cadets free-falling in a formation.

To join the ALO-net, please send your name, rank, LOID, and LO Area from your subscribing email address to:
 jim@dane.org

I will approve the subscriptions as soon as I can reasonably verify that the subscribing address is an
 ALO.

The archives and downloadable files are located on the associated ALO-net Yahoo Groups website.  To reach the
website, you must register with Yahoo (which is free and generally does not generate junk mail) and then
remember your Yahoo ID and password.  The registration process will be completed the first time you visit the
Yahoo Groups website, if you do not have a Yahoo ID already.  (The ALO-net email will come to your inbox
without having to register with Yahoo.  Only use of the ALO-net Yahoo Groups website requires registration with
Yahoo!)  The archives can be viewed by those subscribed at:  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ALO-net/messages

Note this network is an unofficial network that does not originate from the Academy, yet it is an
opportunity to share ideas and information.  Currently we have over 300 email addresses from ALOs and Admissions representatives subscribed.
Most of the Regional Directors are subscribed.

I am sending this message to all of the current LODs using the ALOweb list.  You might have received a
duplicate of this message a few days ago if you are already subscribed to the ALO-net.  Please feel free to
encourage your fellow ALOs to join the ALO-net.
